Edward E. Quick was an American Democratic politician who notably served in the Missouri Senate as majority leader, minority leader, and Pro Tem for 20 years, representing Clay County, Missouri. Additionally, he was a member of the Kansas City city council from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s and was the Clay County presiding commissioner until 2010. A significant achievement was being the first president pro tempore from Kansas City in four decades. He passed away at age 81 from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
