Edward Rondthaler, known as Ed Rondthaler, was an American typographer and pioneer of phototypesetting, born on June 9, 1905, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He founded Photo-Lettering Inc. in 1936, a New York-based typesetting service company. In 1969, he co-founded the International Typeface Corporation (ITC), which innovated in type marketing and significantly influenced the phototypesetting era from a typographical perspective. Rondthaler passed away on August 19, 2009, in Cedar City, Utah.
