Edwin Bustillos García (1964-2003) was a Mexican human rights activist, environmentalist, and agricultural engineer of Tarahumara descent. He worked on a forestry-development project funded by the World Bank but shifted focus to humanitarian issues in the Sierra Madre, notably drug trafficking and the manipulation of native populations. In 1992, he founded the Consejo Asesor Sierra Madre to protect local culture and the environment, often clashing with drug traffickers. He received the Goldman Environmental Prize in 1996 and is featured in the film 'Voices of the Sierra Tarahumara.'
