Edwin Winkels is a Dutch journalist and writer born in Utrecht on December 12, 1962. He began his journalism career at the age of 20 at NRC Handelsblad and later worked for Het Vrije Volk in sports journalism. In 1988, he emigrated to Spain. From 1991 to 2012, he served as an editor for El Periódico de Catalunya, transitioning from sports to general news reporting. Winkels is also a correspondent for the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad and has contributed to various publications such as Hard Gras and De Muur. He has published several books in Dutch and Spanish.
