Egil Rian (1904–1982) was a Norwegian doctor who played a significant role in the regime's forced sterilization policies during World War II. He was involved in preparing Nazi sterilization laws and held positions in health administration. A member of the fascist Nasjonal Samling party, he supported the Nazis' views on eugenics. Rian oversaw the mental health office in the Ministry of the Interior, advocating for the euthanasia of what he considered 'defective' individuals. He received a light sentence after the war for attempting to prevent the deportation of teachers.
