He served as the intendant for the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra from 1949 to 1968, significantly influencing the music scene during that period. Following this role, he became the director of Rikskonsertene, a position he held until 1983. In recognition of his contributions to cultural life, he was awarded the St.Olav's Order, Knight's Cross, 1st Class in 1979. He passed away in 2004.
