Eiji Aoki is a Japanese politician currently serving as the mayor of the special district of Meguro, having been elected for five consecutive terms. He has previously served two terms in the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly and two terms in the Meguro Municipal Assembly. Born on March 29, 1955, Aoki graduated from Keio University’s faculty of economics. He was first elected to the Meguro Municipal Assembly in 1983 and became mayor in 2004 following the suicide of the former mayor. Aoki has enjoyed substantial electoral support throughout his political career.
