Eika Shōfūken, born Kazuko Nakanishi on March 31, 1927, was a prominent Japanese Rokyoku musician. Hailing from a family of bamboo craftsmen in Kagawa Prefecture, she displayed exceptional vocal talent from a young age and apprenticed under the second-generation Shōfūken Eiraku. After marriage, she toured throughout Japan as a couple Rokyoku duo, also contributing as an accompanying performer. She passed away from pneumonia on October 24, 2013. Eika's contributions to the art of Rokyoku have left a lasting legacy.
