Einar Markeng was a Norwegian policeman born on February 25, 1906, in Norway. He joined the National Unity Party in the 1930s and renewed his membership in 1940. On September 15, 1942, he became a constable with the Oslo Statspolitiet, later promoted to officer. Following the execution of Statspolitiet leader Karl Marthinsen in 1945, he was part of an execution group responsible for executing Norwegian resistance members. Markeng was convicted in 1947 for involvement in murder and sentenced to 8 years of hard labor, with the sentence later commuted in 1951.
