Ernesto Pérez, known as El Chapo de Sinaloa, is a regional Mexican singer and actor born on October 23, 1964, in Badiraguato, Sinaloa, Mexico. He began his musical career as a norteño singer and later transitioned primarily to banda and mariachi. Starting as a clarinetist at age 11, he later played bass and became a session musician. In the 1990s, he launched a solo career with EMI Latin and has since released over a dozen successful albums, most notably the 2007 album 'Te Va a Gustar,' which earned him a Latin Grammy nomination.
