El Farruco, born Antonio Montoya Flores on April 18, 1936, was a prominent Flamenco dancer from the 20th century and leader of the Farruco clan in Sevilla. He was recognized as an undisputed authority among the Gypsies of Sevilla. Following his death on December 17, 1997, he was succeeded by his grandson, Farruquito. El Farruco was the patriarch of the family, and his legacy continued through the subsequent generations of dancers and musicians.
