Gerd Elisabeth Rachlew, born on January 12, 1944, is a Swedish physicist known for her contributions to fusion research, especially in fusion plasma studies, and the utilization of synchrotron radiation. She earned her PhD in 1973 from Uppsala University and currently serves as a professor of physics at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). Her research group utilizes MAX-lab in Lund for experimental work. In 2005, she was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
