Elizabeth A. Eaton is an American Lutheran bishop and the Presiding Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). She earned a Bachelor's in Music Education from the College of Wooster and a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School. After her ordination in 1981, she served congregations in Ohio before becoming the Bishop of the Northeastern Ohio Synod in January 2007. Eaton was elected as Presiding Bishop in August 2013, with a vote of 600 to 287 against the incumbent, Mark Hanson, and was re-elected in 2019.
