Elizabeth Laverick was a pioneering British engineer born on November 25, 1925. She served as the technical director of Elliott Automation Radar Systems and made significant contributions to the engineering field as the first female deputy secretary of the Institution of Electrical Engineers. Laverick was also president of the Women's Engineering Society and became the first woman to earn a PhD in a scientific curriculum at Durham University. In recognition of her accomplishments, she was appointed an OBE in 1993.
