Ellen Thomas, born on January 24, 1947, is a prominent American peace activist known for her advocacy against nuclear weapons. She began her activism with the White House Peace Vigil in 1984 and became a tax resister as a form of protest. After her marriage to Thomas in 1984, they protested together until his passing in 2009. Ellen leads The Proposition One Non-Radioactive Nuclear Review, focusing on nuclear danger education, and coordinated a DC ballot initiative for nuclear disarmament in 1993. She has been involved with the Washington Peace Center and currently resides in North Carolina.
