Elmer Otto Friday Jr. was an American judge and politician who served as a Democratic member of the Florida Senate, representing the 24th and 34th districts. Born on February 23, 1924, in Polk County, Florida, he was a World War II veteran who later earned a law degree from the University of Florida. He began his judicial career in 1950, and after serving in the Senate until 1970, he became a circuit judge in South West Florida until retirement. He passed away on January 20, 2006, at the age of 81.
