Elsbeth von Ameln (1905-1990) was a German jurist who worked at Allied military courts and later at the District and Regional Court in Cologne. After obtaining her doctorate in 1933, she faced exclusion and was not permitted to practice as a lawyer due to her father's Jewish background during the Nazi era. In 1944, she resisted deportation and lived in hiding. In April 1945, she received admission from the military government, and her jurisdiction expanded to all Allied military courts. She became a defense attorney in Cologne courts in 1946.
