Sir William Elwyn Edwards Jones was a Welsh solicitor and Labour politician who served as the Labour MP for Conway from 1950 until his defeat in 1951. Born on January 5, 1904, in Caernarfon, he was educated at several educational institutions including the University College of North Wales, Bangor. Jones served as town clerk of Bangor for three decades and held positions in national organizations related to parks and countryside. He was knighted in 1978. Jones attempted to regain his parliamentary seat in 1955 but was unsuccessful.
