Emine Sönmez was a Turkish poet born in Fındıklı, Rize. She completed her primary education in her village and continued her middle school studies in Ankara. After working as a worker at OSTİM, she served as a secretary. Her poems were published in various newspapers and magazines, including Vakit and Büyük Anadolu, as well as Gülpınar, Yalaka, and Yeni Kervan. Some of her poems were set to music by Yıldız İrengün, and she was influenced by the poetic form of koşma.
