Emory Guy Simmons (April 12, 1920 – June 3, 2013) was an American mycologist specializing in dark-colored (dematiaceous) hyphomycetes. He was a world expert in the systematics of the genera Alternaria and Stemphylium. Simmons held a professorship at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His contributions to mycology have been significant, particularly in the classification and understanding of certain fungal groups.
