Ahmet Ender Sakpınar, born on March 13, 1956, in Ankara, is a prominent Turkish conductor. He graduated from the Ankara Conservatory in 1978, studying composition under Ercihan Saydam. He spent much of the following decade in France, furthering his studies in harmony, counterpoint, and conducting. He founded the Ensemble International de Paris and conducted various orchestras in Turkey. After returning to Turkey in 1987, he led the İzmir State Symphony Orchestra until 2014 and later became the chief conductor of the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra.
