Enn Kippel, originally Eduard-Ferdinand Kippel, was an Estonian writer born on February 3, 1901, in Tallinn. He initially worked as a patissier and later joined the Estonian Defence Forces. Kippel gained popularity with his historical novels focusing on Estonia's military history. He was a member of the Estonian Writers' Union and supported the Soviet regime after Estonia's Sovietization. Kippel passed away on February 15, 1942, in Leningrad during the siege, where he struggled with food scarcity and ultimately died from malnutrition.
