Planas served as the first director of the Secretariat of the Commission of Media of the Spanish Episcopal Conference and worked at the Pontifical Council for Social Communications at the Vatican. He has been actively involved in supporting marginalized communities and has made significant contributions to Church communication, earning him the Bravo Award in 2014.
