He is a second-generation Japanese-Peruvian who moved to Japan at the age of three. He is active in live performances with groups he leads, such as BICYCLE and THE KEY PROJECT. He previously supported Ayumi Hamasaki as a bassist. He is affectionately called Enrique or En-chan by friends and fans.
