Eric Fletcher Waters was a soldier in the British Army during World War II. He is the father of Roger Waters, an English rock musician and songwriter, best known as the bassist of the band Pink Floyd. Roger was deeply influenced by the circumstances surrounding his father's death, impacting his songwriting, despite Eric passing away when Roger was only five months old. Very little information exists about Eric's life, but Pink Floyd's album 'The Final Cut' (1983) is dedicated to him.
