Eric Gustaf Axelsson Leijonhufvud (1934-1989) was a Swedish author best known for his fantasy trilogy about the Waterfolk. He began writing in 1978 while working abroad for Sida in Botswana, despite having dreamed of becoming an author for many years prior. In addition to writing, Leijonhufvud was also a musician and painter. He served as the city architect in Sala and was married to Ann Mari Leijonhufvud, with whom he had three daughters.
