He performs in jazz, jazz fusion, and pop genres. Throughout his career, Marienthal has collaborated with notable artists such as Billy Joel, Barbra Streisand, Elton John, Burt Bacharach, B.B. King, Dave Grusin, Olivia Newton-John, and the Yellowjackets. Exclusively playing the alto saxophone, he has also released solo albums under his own name.
