Eric Palante was a Belgian motorcycle off-road rally racer born on January 21, 1963, in Liège. He developed a passion for rally riding in his childhood and participated in the Dakar Rally multiple times. Tragically, he was found dead during the fifth stage of the Dakar Rally on January 10, 2014, at the age of 50. This race marked his eleventh participation. At the time of his passing, he was survived by his wife and three children.
