Karl Eric Gustav Rundqvist was a Swedish wood sculptor and carver born on November 8, 1915, in Vrigstad. A self-taught artist, he began carving in 1938, creating small wooden sculptures featuring themes of farmers, fishermen, and animal studies, primarily from Småland birch. In 1958, he collaborated with Eva Spångberg to create a portal with biblical motifs for a new building commissioned by the Hjelmseryd Foundation. Rundqvist passed away in Vrigstad on March 22, 1993.
