Eric Roy Samuelsen (April 10, 1956 – September 20, 2019) was a prominent American playwright and an emeritus professor of theatre at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He is recognized as one of the most significant Mormon playwrights and received several accolades, including multiple Association for Mormon Letters drama awards throughout the 1990s. He also served as the AML president from 2007 to 2009, and in 2012, he was honored with the Smith–Pettit Foundation Award for his outstanding contributions to Mormon literature.
