Arnold Eric Sevareid was a notable American news correspondent who worked for CBS from 1939 to 1977. He was part of a group of prominent war correspondents recruited by Edward R. Murrow, known as "Murrow's Boys." Sevareid became famous for being the first to report on the fall of Paris during World War II and survived being shot at while traveling to Burma. He later interviewed Adlai Stevenson shortly before his death and served as a commentator on CBS Evening News, winning two Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award.
