Eric Stanton, born Ernest Stanzoni Jr. on September 30, 1926, was an American underground comic and fetish artist known for his work depicting gender role reversal and female dominance. He began his career in BDSM fantasy art for Irving Klaw in the late 1940s and gained underground fame through collaborations with various publishers. Post-1960s, his art became increasingly transgressive. He started the Stanton Archives mail order service in the 1970s and sold fan-inspired books called 'Stantoons' from 1982. In 1984, he held his only art exhibition at Danceteria in New York. His work influenced artists like Banksy and Madonna.
