Eric William Kaler is an American chemical engineer and university administrator, born in 1956. He is the president of Case Western Reserve University since 2021, having previously served as president of the University of Minnesota from 2011 to 2019. Following his presidency at Minnesota, Kaler returned to scientific research and teaching in their Department of Chemical Engineering. Earlier, he was provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Stony Brook University from 2007 to 2011, where he managed relations with Brookhaven National Laboratory.
