Eric Edfast Welin (1923-2014) was a Swedish geologist and mineralogist known for his significant contributions to the study of uranium occurrences and age determination of the Swedish bedrock. He worked at AB Atomenergi and later at the Swedish Museum of Natural History, where he established a geochronology laboratory. Welin's research focused on isotope geology, and he played a key role in advancing methods for dating rocks. He was elected to the Swedish Academy of Sciences and had a mineral named after him, welinit. He passed away and was buried in Sollentuna.
