Erik Olof Albert Bäckman (1905-1996) was a Swedish engineer and municipal politician associated with the right. He began his education at Kungliga Tekniska högskolan, graduating in 1931. Bäckman worked for the Telegrafverket, Telestyrelsen, and Televerket, eventually becoming a chief engineer in Malmö. He was involved in municipal governance as a vice chairman of Malmö's property commission, and was a board member of Televerket's engineers' association. His contributions to public service and engineering were significant during his lifetime.
