Erik Gunnar Eklöf was a Swedish volunteer in the Waffen-SS during World War II, serving with the 5th SS Panzer Division 'Wiking' and the 11th SS Volunteer Panzer Grenadier Division 'Nordland'. He joined the Waffen-SS after leaving Sweden for Germany in 1941 and completed officer training. Eklöf was involved in battles in Lithuania, was wounded, decorated with the Iron Cross, and served as a liaison officer. He survived the war and returned to Sweden in 1945, managing to escape Soviet captivity.
