Erik Højsgaard is a Danish composer and professor known for his work in ear training. He graduated in composition from the Jyske Music Conservatory in 1978 and later studied ear training at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. He became an associate professor in 1988 and a full professor in 2002. Højsgaard has composed various works including symphonies, concertos, operas, and chamber music, and has received numerous awards. His most performed piece is 'C'est la mer mêlée au soleil' for solo guitar.
