Erik Koch Michelsen was a Danish officer trainee and resistance member born on March 21, 1923, in Frederiksberg. He was involved in the Danish resistance group Holger Danske during World War II, where he participated in sabotage and operations against the Nazis. Arrested by Gestapo on February 27, 1945, he was sentenced to death and shot during an escape attempt on March 3, 1945, in Copenhagen. Michelsen is buried in Mindelunden, Ryvangen, and memorial plaques honor his contributions to the resistance.
