Erik Nielsen is a Danish social democratic politician who served as the mayor of Rødovre Municipality from 1994 to 2020. He was previously the chairman and vice-chairman of the Municipalities' Association. A trained machinist since 1973, he worked in that field until 1986 when he became an employment consultant in Rødovre. Additionally, he played as a hockey goalkeeper and later served as the chairman of the Rødovre Skating & Ice Hockey Club. He was replaced as mayor by Britt Jensen on March 19, 2020.
