Erik Postma was a Dutch politician born on December 15, 1953, in Rotterdam. He was affiliated with the Democrats 66 party. Postma was elected city manager of Budel in 1992 and later became city manager of the newly formed municipality Cranendonck in 1997. In April 1998, he was appointed mayor of Beemster. Tragically, he died from cardiac arrest on September 25, 2002, during his term as mayor, and was succeeded by Harry Brinkman.
