Her debut came in 1987 with 'That Day, a Dragon Fell into the Paradise' published in ASUKA. Shirai is known for her works such as the 'Black Li Bing - Night Stories' series, and the 'STOP Liu Bei-kun!' series. In 2004, original manuscripts from her past works surfaced on online auctions, raising controversy regarding their provenance.
