Erkki Kalevi Pohjola (1931–2009) was a renowned Finnish music educator, choir conductor, and pioneer in the international children and youth choir movement. He led the Tapiola Choir from 1963 to 1994, transforming it into an acclaimed vocal ensemble. Under his direction, the choir won prestigious awards and performed extensively. He developed innovative teaching methods based on children's creativity and musicality. Aside from his conducting, Pohjola authored educational materials and served as the artistic director of several music festivals. He remained active internationally as a guest conductor and lecturer after stepping down from his choir leadership.
