Erling Rimestad is a Norwegian diplomat born on July 1, 1963, in Oslo. He has served in the foreign service since 1991, holding positions such as underdirector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2008 to 2012 and department director from 2012 to 2014. From 2014 to 2018, he was the Norwegian ambassador in Tokyo, and since 2018, he has been the expedition leader at the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
