Ernest Tubb, also known as the 'Texas Troubadour', was an influential American singer and songwriter born on February 9, 1914, and passed away on September 6, 1984. He is best known for his 1941 hit 'Walking the Floor Over You', which marked the rise of honky-tonk music. Tubb was the first to record the song 'Blue Christmas', famously covered by Elvis Presley. His 1965 song 'Waltz Across Texas' became a popular choice for dance halls. Tubb collaborated with Loretta Lynn in the early 1960s on the hit 'Sweet Thang' and is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
