Ernesto Duarte Brito was a Cuban pianist, composer, and bandleader born on November 7, 1922, in Jovellanos. He began his musical training in Matanzas and studied at the Conservatory in Havana. He gained fame as a pianist in the Orquesta Hermanos Lebatard and later joined various groups. Duarte composed the popular song 'Arrímate cariñito' for singer Nelo Sosa. He formed his own successful orchestra and recorded with several notable musicians. In the 1960s, he moved to Madrid, where he established the Duhar label and worked with RCA Víctor.
