William Ernest 'Ernie' Jamison was a Canadian publisher and politician, born on February 27, 1924, in Edmonton. He began his career as an ad setter before acquiring the Western Weekly and later the St. Albert Gazette. Jamison served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, being elected as a Progressive Conservative MLA in 1971 and 1975. However, he faced challenges within his party and lost the nomination for the 1979 election. After several unsuccessful runs for office, he died in 2003 after battling prostate cancer.
