Ernest 'Ernie, Mighty Mite' Slyziuk was an accomplished American curler born on March 12, 1920, in Grandview, Manitoba. He played for the Detroit Curling Club, achieving a bronze medal at the 1963 Scotch Cup World Championships. Active for over 30 years, he was a two-time U.S. National Champion and served as the club's president in the late 1970s. He started curler at age 12 and was inducted into the United States Curling Hall of Fame in 1996. Ernie passed away on January 2, 2001.
