Ernő Hetényi (February 13, 1912 – September 17, 1999) was a Hungarian author and Buddhologist. He founded the Eastern European branch of the Tantric Buddhist order Arya Maitreya Mandala, which he led for several decades. Hetényi's contributions to Buddhism and literature have had a lasting impact, especially in Eastern Europe, where he played a significant role in the spread of Buddhist teachings and practices.
