Coming from a traditional musical family, he began violin lessons before switching to cello at age 12. He was part of the Rajkó Orchestra from 1959 to 1969, performing internationally. Oláh was active in many prominent bands and recorded solo works for Hungarian Radio, receiving awards for his contributions. He was a founding member of the 100-member Romani Orchestra and was recognized for his philanthropic efforts.
