Ernst Jaberg was a Swiss jurist and politician, born on December 7, 1917, in Golaten, and died on July 18, 1998, in Bern. He earned his doctorate in law in 1950 and served as a chief judge in the Canton of Bern from 1956 to 1966. Jaberg then directed the Justice and Municipal Department of the Canton from 1966 to 1979. Following this, he was president of the Bern Cantonal Bank from 1979 to 1987. He was also affiliated with the Freistudentenschaft.
